14U 2011 Memorial Day 

War at the Shore Tournament

The BEARS finished the tournament with an overall record of 5-1.   The BEARS were 2-1 in pool play with wins over Fairfield Babe Ruth 12-2 and Norwalk Baseball 4-2 and advanced to Championship play on Monday, May 30th.  In the Quarterfinals Game they faced the CT Angels in a rematch were the Angels took the first game 9-3; the BEARS found themselves trailing once again but the team never quit even when the score was 0-4 in the last inning, down to their final out with no one on the team rallied together, woke up the bats and battled back to score 5 runs and take a 5-4 lead.   Myles Levy came in for the save in the bottom half of the inning and shut them down  to secure the victory.  The hot bats continued into the Semi-finals Game where they defeated Fairfield Prep Legion 10-5.  The BEARS faced a tough CT Blue Jays team in the Championship Game and with the combination of solid defense and some key hits they won with a 3-0 victory.
